Special Session-4: Advanced Materials

The intended focus of this session is the synthesis, application of advanced materials, i.e., materials that are used for their superior mechanical properties. All materials are considered, i.e., metal, alloys, composites, ceramics and polymers. One of the main objectives of this session is also to present and discuss the main points related to the advanced materials that used in high temperature applications, such as Ti-alloys, Ni-super alloys and Ni-Ti shape memory alloys. Summarizing, the topic is very broad and includes all possibilities to improve existing materials regarding their mechanical and physical properties. The topics will include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Microstructure and mechanical properties of advanced materials
  • Metals and alloys
  • Advanced materials
  • Materials for high temperature applications
  • Thermomechanical treatments
  • Composite materials
  • Synthesis of materials for mechanical, corrosion and wear properties
